Last week, during one of the weekdays, i received a call in the late morning. i looked at the no. that appears on my handphone, "hm... an unfamiliar no." the following is the usual things that i'll thought to myself
Possibilities No.
1. somebody called me from their home, but the home no. not recorded in my phone book
2. somebody callled from their office
3. wrong no.
4. I won a lucky draw!!! and they called me to claim the prize. oh, I've being waiting for this moment all my life! (though i din really rem participating in any lucky draws but well, who knows? maybe i happen to be a lucky winner of Starhub or POSB monthly draw!)
anyway, i answered the call quickly.
me: " hello?"
guy: " hi! i'm calling from *** services. I would like to congratulate you for winning one of our 30 consolation prizes."
me: "really?" (i try to sound normal. but i'm actually very excited! I can't believe my dream just become a reality! but wait, did he just said it's a consolation prize? and 'one of our 30' consolation prizes. oh my, then the prize must be really pathetic. maybe some stupid shaver, coffee mixer or worse, a pen??? but anyway, it's still a prize. afterall, it's free. so why should i discriminate it? hee.... so happy! i've FINALLY won a prize after so many years!! Aa... HANG on a minute. he said he's from wat services again?)
me: "sorry, but can you repeat which company you calling from again?"
guy: "oh, l***le services."
me: "ok..." (but i dun remember participating in any l***le services lucky draws...)
guy: "you can come and collect ya prize after your work."
me: "(confused) hm ok... (oh no! could it one of those companies that my mum always talk to me about? those that asked you to go down and collect the prizes then after that psycho you to do their survey or buy their products in order to redeem the prize. so i asked him straight on the face...) you want me to do survey issit?"
guy: "no no, don't need. so you can collect your prize after work?"
me: (hm... he said 'don't need', should i believe him? ai ya... anyway, i'm going out with roger later. i can ask him to accompany me there. so won't be easily cheated one ba...) "hm... ok"
guy: "ok, our office is in Delfi Orchard..."
me: "wait, wait... let me take it down. Adelphi... Aa!!! i thought that is in city hall?!"
guy: "no no... ours is Delfi. It is in Orchard Road."
me: "oh ok... (hm... how come i never heard of this building before? I'm quite sure i know most of the buildings along the Orchard stretch.) sorry but where is it? is it after far east plaza?
guy: (think he quite frustated with me already) "you know paragon? ok, you have to walk further down, then you will see the Delfi building."
me: "oh ok, thank you very much"
guy: "so you can come and collect it after work?"
me: (why he kept thinking tt i'm working? can't students participate in lucky draws as well? this time i tell him straight on the face again...) "for your info, i'm still a student. i can come down anytime to collect the prize later in the afternoon."
guy: "huh? you are not working? (think for a few seconds) Wait a minute... are you Miss Lim *** ***?"
... And you can predict how the rest of the story goes... I can't believe this guy is an ultimate ice blend!!! said so many things already, made me think so much and in the end?! get the wrong person!!!
me: "No, I'm not." (I said coldly with disappointment)
guy: "oh ok, i'm sorry" (and he just hang up the phone)
Well, this is wat happen when 2 sotongs met.
Unbelievable isn't it?

This is a scam... Don't fall for it. They try to promote something to you after you collect the "prize"
I received 2 of these calls during the hols. I questioned them about what lucky draw and which shopping promotion. They could not give me an answer and I turned them down flatly.
Those who know me, should know that I almost never go shopping, so how could I take part in a lucky draw.
They were probably selling some tour package stuff.. I went to one with my godsis before and they sure know how to use some hard tatics to sell. If u can tahan their taking for more than an hour, you will still recievce a gift at the end even if you don't buy, but its probably some brandless watch.
