I miss my working place!

I’ve been wanting to write this since last Fri. but since I know it’s going to be a long entry, I delay it till now. Well, fyi, I stop working last Fri (a job that is recommended by my friend who works there, and not an attachment). I won’t elaborate much on my company, only to mention that they’re a private company with a lot of ang mohs (no racism here) working there at tanjong pagar. And I really missed the place so much!!! I tried to fight back my tears many times on Fri. I had to quickly walk to the ladies so that no one can catch my eyes red. But well, think I failed, cos one of the staff (thanks for the correction, mel) caught me along the corridor and asked me whether I cried (I was so embarrassed!!!). But I coolly said ‘No’. Though it’s obvious I’m lying. I tried to analyze why I got so emotional. After much thinking, I listed all the factors below…

1. Good environment

Can you imagine a temp staff having an office of her own? And of cos, I’m obviously referring to myself lah. Haha… But anyway, it just happens to be. I was sitting in a corner during my first month there. But then, that corner got renovated to become an office. And for a stupid reason: the computer that I used was in the room, so I have that whole office to myself during my whole stay there (all thanks to my computer. Though ya speed is slow, I still love you all the same. Ha..)! Mind you, the renovated office costs the company ten thousands over dollars and I’m the first to step foot in it and used it. Lol. Ok, a bit the hao lian liao. Must stop. Hahah… Ok, let me show you how my office looks like...

2. Good Work

hahaha.. you can't imagine wat i does there. ok, besides the usual data entry stuff, checking files, photocopying, i get to travel! ok, though it's quite boring to travel to MOM several times but imagine this... you took a taxi there. take a queue no. wait for hours (i rem i watched the american idol finale there). do watever you need to do. then you took a taxi back. and you are paid for all these.

and i esp LOVE one of the trips which i went Orchard Road with my supervisor. cos she said she need help with the buying of gifts for our clients. and of cos i happily tack along. needless to say, we took a taxi there. we went to Tangs first to get some jewelleries, before going to orchard point to have our lunch (and can you believe it, we took a taxi from tangs to orchard point! i was like why not she gimme the money and i walked there!). then we go centrepoint to get the remaining stuff and went back to the office. when, we reached the office, one of the staff told her that they count short of one gift. AND SO... she asked me to take taxi all the way back to tangs again to buy that one more gift. hahah... and 3/4 of my day is gone just like that. Unbelievable right?

3. Good Food

do not be surprised if you realised that i'm a lot fatter. oh!! mama, this is bad. this is sinful. but i can't help it. I'm surrounded by food all the time in the office. ok, firstly let me introduced you to our pantries. although it's not a very big company, we have 3 pantries! one of them is for the clients. i only managed to take photos of 2 of them.

Anyway, I've tried most stuff except for ONE THing!!

YES!! this haagen dazs ice cream!! been in the freezer for one month plus already. tempt me whenever i open the freezer. but since i confirmed with the clerk that this is not bought by her, tt means i can't eat it *sob*

and after working in tanjong pagar for quite a period, i realise the ppl working here have 2 favourite after-lunch food.

have i told you how fresh the fruits are from the tanjong pagar market? they are ex also. but anyway, ppl here are rich to afford. and of cos, my colleagues are fruit lovers too. whenever they bought fruits, i'll have the luxury of some. hahah.. think i can become a fruit expert liao. can tell you which country one nice. hahah... ok, let me recall wat i've eaten. hm...

MUFFINS!!! wow... if you work in tanjong pagar, you can't miss this muffin shop. their business just gets better and better. their muffin was just so yummy delicious. here's the shop

You saw the queue? i waited for about 15 mins just to get 1 brownie, which was very pai seh because the ppl in front of me are all buying boxes(large cake box size) of muffins!! Singaporeans!

4. Good People

oh yes, how can i miss out the ppl there! i hardly interact with the ang mohs cos i dun really work for them (they are mainly engineers). other than that, the people there are really good to me! i'm known to them as xiao mei or xueling. we often laugh at stupid jokes and gossips that's going around the office. actually i wanted to say a big thank you to them on my last day, but i got so emotional that day that i din say that. *sob* again. but i did bought them some delicious egg tarts to show my appreciation. so hope that the message is conveyed across. really wanna give a big thank you, esp to some who have given me a lot of guidance along the way, though i can be quite irritating at times. i have also received many career talks from them. hahah... and some have shared with me incredible stories of their life. i appreciated that as well. i believed it's a valuable experience gained. ah.. so sad now again. well, may these happy memories stay will me always =D
